The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) typically conducts the Class 10 Board Exam in either February or March. Objective-Type Questions

Roughly 20% of the questions will fall into the objective-type questions category. These encompass sub-categories such as:

  • Assertion and Reason questions

  • True and false questions

  • Fill-up questions

  • Statement questions

  • Multiple-choice questions

  • Column Matching questions

Subjective Type Questions

40% of the questions will be subjective in nature, necessitating either concise or detailed responses. Typically, CBSE will not pose open-ended questions with very brief answers. Instead, the majority of subjective questions will be of the short or lengthy answer type.

Class 12 Passing Criteria

Having grasped the CBSE marking scheme for class 12, let's now delve into the passing criteria, which applies to all subjects.

The passing criteria for CBSE class 12 remain consistent with previous standards. To pass:

  • A student must achieve a minimum of 33% overall.

  • Attaining at least 33% in both theory and practical papers is obligatory.

  • The total marks obtained should amount to at least 33% of the maximum achievable score.

  • If a student achieves 33% overall but falls short of 33% in any specific subject, they must undertake a compartment test.

  • The cumulative score is computed based on the results of theory and practical papers.

  • Grace points are allocated on a scale ranging from two to five as part of the evaluation process.

CBSE Board Exams 2024 Results

The CBSE is expected to announce the CBSE 12th Exam Results for 2024 in May 2024 on its official websites like results.cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in. The results for all streams, including Science, Commerce, and Arts, will be released together. To check their results, students will need to enter their admit card number, roll number, and school number on the website.

The CBSE Class 12 Result for 2024 will show the student's name, roll number, date of birth, marks in all subjects, and grades. Students can also access their results through DigiLocker and the UMANG App. It's important to remember that the online results are provisional, and students will later receive their original mark sheets from their schools.

However, if the CBSE does decide to remove board exams from Class 10 in 2025, then the 2024-25 batch will be the last batch to have board exams in Class 10.
