CTET Previous Year Question

Solving CTET previous year question paper 1 is a smart way to get ready for the exam. Many times, questions are not the same, but they come from the same chapter or topic. So, when you solve old papers, you get an idea about what kind of questions can be asked. It also helps you understand the exam pattern and improve your timing. A good CTET previous year question paper book can help you practise well and revise the important topics again.

How to Prepare for the CTET 2025 Exam?

1. Begin with the Basics

Before starting your studies, understand what the CTET exam is actually testing. CTET checks your understanding of how children learn, how to teach them well, and your grip over subjects like Maths, Environmental Studies, Language, Science or Social Studies. First, check whether you want to appear for Paper 1 (for Classes 1 to 5), Paper 2 (for Classes 6 to 8), or both. This basic clarity will help you plan your timetable and choose the correct CTET 2025 book.

2. Know the Exam Pattern and Syllabus in Detail

Once you know your paper, go through the CTET syllabus and pattern carefully. Both papers have 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each, and no negative marking. Subjects include:

  • Child Development & Pedagogy (30 marks)

  • Language I (30 marks)

  • Language II (30 marks)

  • Mathematics/Science/Social Studies, depending on the paper (60 marks)

3. Choose the Right CTET Study Material

Avoid using too many books. Stick to the most trusted and simple CTET preparation books. Go for authors and publishers that follow the latest syllabus and pattern. PW (Physics Wallah) offers very helpful CTET 2025 books and online study material, which are easy to understand, especially for last-minute preparation.

4. Focus on Child Development & Pedagogy First

This section is the heart of CTET. It appears in both papers and is very scoring if you understand it well. It includes topics like child psychology, learning theories, and teaching methods. Many questions come directly or indirectly from this area. Use clear and simple books that explain these topics with examples. Practise MCQs daily to strengthen your understanding.

5. Practise CTET Previous Year Question Papers

Solving CTET previous year question paper is very useful. It helps you know the types of questions asked and the level of difficulty. Many times, questions may not repeat exactly, but they do come from the same chapters or topics. A good CTET PYQ book will give you solved papers with answers, which is excellent for revision and confidence building.

6. Make a Timetable and Stick to It

Make a simple timetable that covers all subjects. Give more time to subjects you find difficult. Also, include time for revision and mock tests. Try to study daily, even if it is for a short time. Regular study is better than studying for long hours in one day and skipping the next.

7. Take Mock Tests and Analyse Them

After finishing some topics, take full mock tests. This will help you check your speed and accuracy. After every test, spend time to see where you made mistakes. This habit will improve your performance and help reduce exam fear. Many online platforms, including PW, offer CTET mock tests in a simple format.

8. Revise Smartly and Stay Positive

In the last few weeks, do not start anything new. Focus only on revision. Read short notes, solve important questions again, and go through the CTET PYQ book once more. Keep a positive attitude. Remember, CTET is not just about hard work, but also smart work.
