RRB Group D Exam Pattern

The RRB Group D exam is conducted in a Computer Based Test (CBT) format and is the first stage of the selection process. The paper is divided into four sections, and a total of 100 questions are asked. Each question carries 1 mark, and the total duration of the test is 90 minutes. One important thing to note is the negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer, which means accuracy matters just as much as speed.

Understanding the exact structure of the exam is the first step to creating an efficient RRB Group D study plan. Candidates often make the mistake of spending too much time on one section, but the RRB Group D preparation becomes easier when you know which subjects carry how many marks.

Last-Minute Tips for RRB Group D Exam

1. Stick to What You’ve Already Studied

At this stage, avoid starting any new topic. Focus only on what you have already covered during your RRB Group D preparation. Going through untouched or difficult chapters now may create confusion. Instead, revise the topics you are confident in and polish your strengths.

2. Revise Notes and Important Formulas

In the final days, your short notes are your best revision tools. Go through key formulas, science definitions, and reasoning shortcuts. Use summary pages from your RRB Group D preparation books or self-made flashcards to do quick and effective revisions.

3. Practice Mock Tests in Exam Conditions

Take at least 3–4 full-length mock tests in the last week and try to simulate actual exam conditions. This will help you manage time better and reduce nervousness. Analyse every mock test to understand where you’re making mistakes and improve accordingly.

4. Focus on Accuracy, Not Just Speed

Remember, there is negative marking. So, during your RRB Group D preparation, make accuracy your priority. It's better to attempt 85 questions with 90% accuracy than 100 questions with too many wrong answers. Practice smartly and avoid random guessing.

5. Use Reliable Study Materials Only

Stick to authentic RRB Group D preparation books and trusted RRB Group D study material. Don’t waste time scrolling through too many online sources at the last moment.

6. Rest Well and Stay Positive

Good sleep, light meals, and a calm mind are equally important in the last few days. Over-stressing can affect your focus and memory. Believe in your RRB Group D preparation and stay confident, your efforts will reflect in the exam.
